Disconnect the engine from the gearbox.

Fix the engine on the mounting stand

Remove the alternator with its casing and belt pulley.

Unscrew the oil filter and drain the oil from the engine.

Remove the pulley from the shaft.

Remove the two-piece camshaft timing belt cover.

Loosen the tensioner and remove the toothed belt (fig 2.21).



Loosen the ignition distributor cap with high voltage wires. Unscrew the spark plugs.

Remove the block head cover with ventilation hoses.

Remove the block head. Bolts unscrew on fig. 2.22.



Remove the oil pan.

Unscrew the bolts securing the clutch cover to the flywheel in several stages.

Unscrew the bolts securing the crankshaft rear bearing cover (pic. 2.23).




Remove the water pump.

Remove the gear wheel from the crankshaft (pic. 2.24) belt drive using puller 21-098.



Remove the oil pump from the supply (sucking) tube (pic. 2.25).



If necessary, remove the carbon deposits that have accumulated on the edges of the cylinders. To do this, use a blunt tool so as not to damage the surfaces of the cylinders.


Remove the connecting rod caps and disassemble them. Don't mix up the details!

Pull up the pistons with connecting rods.

Assemble the caps with the appropriate connecting rods and loosely connect with connecting rod bolts.

Remove the bolts securing the crankshaft main bearing caps.

Remove the crankshaft from the engine housing.

Remove the bushings and place them in their respective bearings. Place bearing caps on and bolt loosely. Do not mix up bearing shells and bearing caps.

Remove the oil pressure sensor.

Degrease all parts except bearings.
