Removing the external antenna (Fiesta 4)

The antenna does not require maintenance, but it can be damaged in an automatic car wash and will need to be replaced.



SEQUENCE OF WORKS

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the radio and disconnect the antenna wire from the back side.

3. Using a thin screwdriver, carefully remove the interior light bulb from the roof trim, placing a clean cloth under the screwdriver.

4. Angle the three-wire bulb toward the windshield and temporarily secure with tape.

5. Through the opened hole, unscrew the screw securing the antenna base, having first marked the location of the antenna wire (Fig. 16.18).

6. Pull out the antenna wire and remove it from the roof together with the base and rubber gasket (Fig. 16.19).

7. Install the antenna with the rubber gasket on the roof and screw in the mounting screw by hand from inside the car.

8. Adjust the position of the antenna on the roof and tighten the screw completely.

9. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
