Dismantling the speaker (Body / Interior / Ford Mondeo 3 2000-2007)

Depending on the equipment and model variant, your Mondeo has full-range loudspeakers installed in the doors.

Front doors

PROCEDURE

Turn off the radio and disconnect the battery.
Remove the door trim as described above and..
... unscrew the four fixing screws of the speaker (indicated by arrows) with a torx screwdriver.

Remove the speaker by unscrewing the four fixing screws (arrows).
Now pull the speaker out of the door and carefully disconnect the plug (indicated by an arrow).

Disconnect the plug (arrows) from the speaker.
Connect the new speaker and complete the installation in reverse order.

Rear doors

PROCEDURE

Turn off the radio and disconnect the battery.
Remove the door trim as described above and..
... unscrew, as for the front doors, the four fixing screws of the speaker (indicated by arrows) with a torx screwdriver.

Dismantling the rear speaker, to do this, unscrew the four fixing screws (arrows).
Now pull the speaker out of the door and carefully disconnect the plug (indicated by an arrow).

Disconnect the plug (indicated by an arrow) from the speaker.
Connect the new speaker and complete the installation in reverse order.

PRACTICAL ADVICE

Rear speaker - pay attention to the dimensions

Before turning the interior of your Mondeo into a concert hall, pay attention to the dimensions of the possible installation openings in the rear. «limit yourself» suitable speakers: otherwise, the electromagnetic effect of large speakers may cause a blocking effect on the rear belt rollers. Consequence: The belts become blocked and can no longer be used properly.
