Removing the speaker (Mondeo 3)

Depending on the equipment and model variant, your Mondeo has full-range speakers built into the doors.


Front doors


ORDER OF EXECUTION
  1. Turn off the radio and disconnect the battery.
  2. Remove the door trim as described above and…
  3. …unscrew the four speaker mounting screws (indicated by arrows) using a torx screwdriver.


    Remove the speaker by unscrewing the four mounting screws (arrows).
  4. Now pull the speaker out of the door and carefully disconnect the plug (indicated by the arrow).


    Disconnect the plug (arrows) from the speaker.
  5. Connect the new speaker and complete the installation in reverse order.




Rear doors



ORDER OF EXECUTION
  1. Turn off the radio and disconnect the battery.
  2. Remove the door trim as described above and…
  3. …unscrew, as for the front doors, the four speaker mounting screws (indicated by arrows) using a torx screwdriver.


    To remove the rear speaker, unscrew the four mounting screws (arrows).
  4. Now pull the speaker out of the door and carefully disconnect the plug (indicated by the arrow).


    Disconnect the plug (indicated by the arrow) from the speaker.
  5. Connect the new speaker and complete the installation in reverse order.


PRACTICAL ADVICE

Rear speaker - pay attention to the dimensions


Before you turn your Mondeo into a concert hall, pay attention to the dimensions of the possible installation openings in the rear. "Limit" yourself to suitable speakers: otherwise, the electromagnetic effect of large speakers can have a blocking effect on the rollers of the rear belts. Consequence: the belts are blocked and can no longer be used properly.
