Removal and installation the air filter (cars from 9/94) (Scorpio 2)

Removal

Disconnect plug connector "4" of the mass air flow meter.

Move forward to detach the intake pipe "5".

Petrol engine: remove 2 rubber loops "6".

Diesel engine: remove the left front wheel arch lining, see p. 131.

Diesel engine: from the wheel arch side, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the air filter housing from the engine compartment.



Loosen clamp "2" of the intake pipe mount and 2 clamps "1". 4 - plug connector of the air mass flow meter. The figure shows an engine with a working volume of 2.3 l.

Disconnect the temperature sensor plug connector "5".

By moving upwards, against the direction of the arrow, detach resonator "3" from the pin holders and remove the pipeline.



Gasoline engine: loosen the clamp and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the air filter housing.

Remove the air filter housing.

Installation

Diesel engine, attach the air filter housing and tighten the mounting bolts from the wheel arch side. Install the wheel arch lining, see p. 131.

Place the intake manifold and secure it with a clamp to the intake pipe and with clamps to the air filter housing.

Connect the plug connectors of the air mass flow meter and the temperature sensor. The connectors must be secured with clamps.

Gasoline engine, hang 2 rubber loops on the air filter housing.

Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the air filter housing and secure it with a clamp.
