At the base of the body in the area where the wheels rotate, dust, clay and sand can accumulate. Removing the accumulated dirt, which in winter may also contain salt, is very important.
Protection of the engine compartment with anti-corrosion agents
To prevent corrosion of the front part of the car (e.g. side parts, side members and bulkheads) and the power unit, the engine compartment and the brake system, front axle and steering components located therein must be treated with a high-quality solid preservative. In all cases, this should be done, of course, after washing the engine.
Caution: Before washing the engine, cover the generator and brake fluid reservoir with plastic bags.
The generator bearings are protected against water, but when cleaning, which can be done, for example, with a steamer, there is a risk of bearing leaching due to oil-dissolving additives. This can result in undesirable phenomena such as bearing noise or even failure. After treatment with a solid preservative, all joints and hinges should be cleaned and treated with MoS2 grease.
