Caution: It is not possible to push-start the engine of a car with an automatic transmission. For a car with a catalytic converter, one push-start attempt is allowed and only with a cold engine, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the catalytic converter.
Turn on the ignition.
Press the accelerator pedal.
Disengage the clutch and engage 3rd gear.
The car is towed or pushed.
Slowly engage the clutch.
Note: It is quite difficult to push start a cold diesel engine, because the preheating system does not function when the battery is discharged.
