Starting and running in the engine after overhaul

1. After installing the engine in the car, check the oil and coolant levels again.

2. Removing the candles and turning off the ignition system (see section 2), turn the engine until the gauge or light indicates oil pressure.

3. Install the spark plugs, connect the wires, check the ignition system.

4. Start the engine. It should start relatively easily, although it will take some time for the fuel to hit the injector.

5. Let it warm up to normal operating temperature. After the engine warms up, carefully check for possible oil and coolant leaks.

6. Turn off the engine, recheck the oil and coolant levels.

7. Drive your car on a road with minimal traffic. accelerate at full throttle from 48 to 80 km/h (30 to 50 mph), then let off the throttle completely and let the speed drop again to 48 km/h (30 mph). Repeat the procedure 10-12 times. This will give a good load on the piston rings and allow them to rub against the cylinder walls. Check again for oil and coolant leaks.

8. First 800 km (500 miles) mileage drive as carefully as possible (high speed not recommended) and keep checking the oil. During the engine break-in period, there is usually a large oil consumption.

9. About 800-965 km (500's-600's miles) change the oil and filter.

10. Drive normally for the next few hundred miles.

11. After 3218 km (2000 miles) mileage, change the oil and filter again, consider the engine completely run-in.
