Hydrokinetic transmission engine overload test (Scorpio 1)

The engine should only start with the gearshift lever in the "P" and "N" positions. With the engine idling, moving the gearshift lever to one of the "R", "D", "3", "2" or "1" positions should cause the car to jerk slightly.

When increasing the engine speed in the "D" or "R" position and with the brake pedal depressed or the handbrake lever pulled, the engine should run at a speed of no more than 2000–2900 rpm. This test should not last more than 2 seconds. The pressure values at the control speed and at idle are given in the corresponding (see Table. Control oil pressure (kPa)).
