The anti-theft alarm system is installed additionally. The system is activated automatically when one of the front doors is locked with the key. After a short delay (approximately 20 seconds), the system will be activated if any of the doors or the hood is opened. The only way to turn off the activated alarm is to open one of the front doors with the key. Opening the rear door with the key does not turn off the activated alarm.
The components of the alarm system are: a control unit, system activation switches, sensor switches, an audible alarm signal and a signal bell.
The control unit is located under the dashboard. It determines the alarm status, controls the cut-off switches and ignition circuit, and determines the alarm duration up to 30 seconds. The unit also activates a signal bell to notify the driver that the system is on and controls the system activation delay.
The door switches are the same as those used for the door open warning in the AWS system. The hood switch in the anti-theft alarm system is separate.
The system activation switches are mounted on the front door lock cylinders, where they are activated by a tab on the end of the cylinder. They are closed only momentarily during the door locking process.
The horn is mounted next to the battery. The horn and its wires are not accessible without opening the hood. The alarm bell is also located under the hood.
