Gear selector (vehicles up to 07.2000)

Disassembly

1. Remove the reversing light switch.



2. Remove pin of inclusion of lanterns of a backing. Discard the bolt as unnecessary.



3. Remove the shift lever and internal gear selector cover.

NOTE: The bolt is installed on the retaining compound.

Loosen the bolt and remove the shift and select lever shaft guide

• Heat the bolt to approximately 60 - 80°C using a hot air gun and unscrew it.

5. Remove the gear selector and spring. Remove the shift lever.



6. Remove the gear selection rocker and gear selection shaft from the gear selector housing.

• 1. Turn out a bolt.
• 2. Remove the gear selection rocker together with the gear selection shaft.
• Remove the spring.

7. Remove a shaft of a choice of transfers.

• 1. Remove the gear selection gate from the gear selection shaft.
• 2. Remove a finger of a choice of transfers and an arm.

8. Remove the circlip and washer from the gear selection shaft.



9. Remove the shift lever shaft.



10. Remove oil seals.



11. Move both needle roller bearings of the gear lever shaft inward. Use a suitable socket. Then remove the bearings.

Assembly

1. Move the upper needle roller bearing of the gear lever shaft. Use a suitable socket.



2. Install oil seals. Apply sealant to the oil seal.

• 1. Push the oil seal in as far as it will go. Use a suitable socket.

NOTE: Installation depth

• 2. Install the oil seal.

3. Install the shift lever shaft lower needle roller bearing together with the shift lever shaft.




4. By tapping lightly, adjust the axial clearance of the shift lever shaft to 0.3±0.1 mm.



5. Install the circlip and washer on the selector shaft.



6. Assemble the gear selection finger and bracket, insert into the gear selection link.

NOTE: Install new bolt and tighten slightly.

Install the selector shaft and bolt.

• 1. Install the gear selection gate onto the gear selection shaft.
• 2. Install the bolt and lightly tighten it.

8. Install the selector gate and selector shaft into the selector housing and tighten the bolt.

• Check the axial clearance of the selector shaft.

NOTE: Install a new reversing light activation pin.

Install the gear selector and spring.

• Install a new reversing light switch.

10. Install the selector lever shaft and ball bearing.



11. Install the internal shift cover. Use sealant.



12. Establish the switch of lanterns of a backing.
