Radiator (1.8L/2.0L/1.6L Zetec-E) — removal and installation

Special tool

Coolant hose clamp remover/installer 303-397 (24-003)

Withdrawal

All cars

1. Remove the motor and casing. For more information, please refer to the Electric motor and casing chapter available in this section.

2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.

Vehicles with an air conditioning system.

3. Disconnect and support the capacitor.



All cars

4. Using the special tool, disconnect the upper radiator hose.



5. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hoses.




6. Disunite the horn connector.



7. Turn out bolts of a basic arm of a radiator.



8. Remove the radiator support bracket.



9. Remove the radiator.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.





3. Fill the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.
