Electric motor and cooling fan housing (1.8L/2.0L/1.6L Zetec-E)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

2. Disconnect the electrical connectors of the cooling fan motor.



3. Remove the two pin retainers.



4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

CAUTION: Do not use excessive force to release the cooling fan motor and shroud.

Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.

• 1.To allow the cooling fan motor and shroud to be lifted, release the upper radiator clamps.
• 2.Remove the fan and casing.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
