Coolant Hose Clamp Remover/Installer 303-397 (24-003)

Removal


1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. For more information, refer to the Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding the Cooling System chapter in this section.

2. Lower the vehicle.

3. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.



4. Disconnect the breather hose from the cylinder head cover.



5. Remove the air filter.




6. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hose from the thermostat housing cover.



7. Using a special tool, disconnect the cooling system hoses from the thermostat housing.



8. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
  • 1.Remove the ECT clamp.
  • 2. Disconnect the ECT plug from the thermostat housing.



9. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant hose from the thermostat housing.




10. Remove the thermostat housing. Discard the gasket as it is no longer needed.



Installation


1.
NOTE: Install a new thermostat housing gasket.


Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
