Transmission fluid cooler pipelines — removal and installation

Withdrawal


1.
WARNING: Whenever the transmission fluid cooler lines are disconnected, cover the coolant lines with a thick cloth to prevent scalding. Failure to follow this instruction may result in injury.


CAUTION: Whenever the transmission fluid cooler lines are disconnected, appropriate plugs must be installed to prevent dirt from entering.


Raise and support the vehicle. See Section 100-02 for more information.

2.
NOTE: Mark the position of the transmission fluid cooler supply and return lines.


Disconnect the lines from the transmission fluid cooler.
  • 1. Disconnect the supply pipe.
  • 2. Disconnect the return line.
  • Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.

CAUTION: Use an open end wrench to keep the tubing adapter from turning.


NOTE: Do not remove the tubing adapter from the transaxle case.


Remove the transmission fluid cooler supply and return lines from the automatic transaxle assembly.



Installation


1.
NOTE: Align the marks on the transmission fluid cooler lines.



Connect the lines to the transaxle transmission fluid cooler.
  • 1. Connect the supply pipe.
  • 2. Connect the return line.

CAUTION: Use an open end wrench to keep the tubing adapter from turning.


Install the transmission fluid cooler lines to the transaxle assembly.



3. Lower the car.

4. Fill the transaxle with automatic transmission fluid. Refer to Section 307-01 for more information. gearboxes.
