Transmission Fluid Cooler Lines — Removal and Installation

Removal


1.
WARNING: Whenever the transmission fluid cooler lines are disconnected, cover the cooler lines with a thick cloth to prevent the possibility of scalding. Failure to follow this instruction may result in injury.


CAUTION: Whenever the transmission fluid cooler lines are disconnected, install the appropriate plugs to prevent dirt from entering.


Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.

NOTE: Mark the location of the transmission fluid cooler feed and return lines.


Disconnect the lines from the transmission fluid cooler.
  • 1. Disconnect the supply line.
  • 2. Disconnect the return line.
  • Allow the liquid to drain into a suitable container.

CAUTION: Using an open-end wrench, hold the pipe adapter to prevent it from turning.


NOTE: Do not remove the pipe adapter from the transaxle housing.


Remove the transmission fluid cooler supply and return lines from the automatic transaxle.



Installation


1.
NOTE: Align the marks on the transmission fluid cooler lines.



Connect the pipes to the transmission fluid cooler of the gearbox in the drive axle unit.
  • 1. Connect the supply line.
  • 2. Connect the return line.

CAUTION: Using an open-end wrench, hold the pipe adapter to prevent it from turning.


Install the transmission fluid cooler lines to the transaxle.



3. Lower the vehicle.

4. Fill the transaxle with automatic transmission fluid. For additional information, refer to Section 307-01.
