Checking the fluid level in the CTX automatic transmission

            0

The automatic transmission is filled with a special synthetic fluid at the factory (WSD-M2-C199A). Non-specified ATFs filled into a CTX transmission can cause serious malfunctions. Failure to replace the working fluid in time, its low or high level can cause malfunctions, so it is necessary to regularly check the fluid level in the gearbox. This work is best left to a service center, as are all necessary maintenance work on your CTX transmission.

SEQUENCE OF WORK

1. Take a trip to warm up the fluid (about 10 km).

2. Stop the Fiesta on level ground. Apply the parking brake to the vehicle and set the selector lever to position «N».

3. Open the hood. The engine must be running at idle.

4. Pull out the fluid level indicator, located in the direction of travel on the right next to the battery, and check the level of the working fluid using the marks (pic. 12.10).

5. The level of the working fluid must be between the marks «Min» And «Max». Otherwise, turn off the engine and add fluid through the level indicator hole using a suitable funnel or oiler. Never add too much fluid, as this will damage the automatic transmission. The maximum amount of liquid to top up between the marks «Min» And «Max» is approximately 280 cm3.

6. Start the engine and let it idle for about 2 minutes. With the engine running, sequentially set the selector lever to all positions, and then check the fluid level again with the engine running.
