Battery shelf (1.6L Duratec) (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Remove the battery. For more information, refer to the Battery chapter in this section.

2. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery tray.



3. Disconnect the starter solenoid wiring harness from the battery tray.



4. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery tray.



5. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the battery tray.

CAUTION: To avoid damaging the battery tray, remove the bolts in the order shown.

Remove the battery shelf mounting bolts.

• 1. Remove the top bolt.
• 2. Remove the lower bolts.

Installation

1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
