Generator (1.6L Duratec) — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Disconnect the battery ground wire. Refer to Section 414-01 for more information.

2. Remove the cooling fan shroud. Refer to Section 303-03 for more information.

3. Lower the car.

4. Remove the accessory drive belt.

• Turn the accessory drive belt tensioner in a clockwise direction.
• Remove the accessory drive belt from the power steering pump pulley.

5. Remove a cover of electric sockets of the generator.

6. Disconnect the generator electrical connections.



7. Turn out the top bolts of fastening of the generator.

NOTE: Support generator

Turn out the lower bolt of fastening of the generator.



9. Remove the generator.

Installation

1. To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
