Battery — removal and installation (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Remove the battery cover.

• 1. Release the lid.
• 2. Remove the battery cover.

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For more information, refer to the Disconnecting the Battery section in this section.

3. Disconnect the battery power cables.

• 1. Disconnect the auxiliary power wires.
• 2. Disconnect the battery power cable.

4. Remove the battery clamp.



5. Remove the battery.

Installation

NOTE: If the battery is disconnected and then reconnected while the vehicle is re-learning its adaptive drive strategy, some unusual driving characteristics may occur. The vehicle may need to travel 16 km (10 miles) or more to re-learn this strategy.

To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
