Shock absorber — universal (15 791 0)

Removal

1. Remove the rear wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Section 204-04 for additional information.

NOTE: When removing the left shock absorber, it is necessary to disconnect the exhaust system from the rear suspension mount.

Disconnect the exhaust system from the rear suspension support.



3.

NOTE: When removing the left shock absorber, the exhaust heat shield must be removed.

Remove the exhaust system heat shield.



4. Using a transmission jack, support the lower control arm.

5. Remove the upper shock absorber mounting bolt (right side shown).



6. Remove the shock absorber (right side shown).

Installation

1.

NOTE: Final tightening of the lower shock absorber mounting bolt should be performed with the vehicle resting on its own wheels.

Install the shock absorber (right side shown).



2. Install the upper shock absorber mounting bolt (right side shown).



3. Lower and remove the transmission jack.

NOTE: After installing the left shock absorber, the exhaust heat shield must be installed.

Install the exhaust system heat shield.



5.

NOTE: After installing the left shock absorber, the exhaust system must be connected to the rear suspension mount.

Connect the exhaust system to the rear suspension support.



6. Install the rear wheel and tire assembly. Refer to Section 204-04 for additional information.

7. Tighten the lower shock absorber mounting bolt (right side shown).
