Spring — 3-door/4-door (15 621 0)

Withdrawal

1. Remove the rear wheel and tire assembly. See Section 204-04 for more information.

2. Using an appropriate spring compressor, compress the spring.



3. Disconnect the shock absorber from the wheel knuckle.

WARNING: The spring is in a very stressed condition; always be careful!. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.

Remove the spring.



5. If the spring must be removed from the spring compressor, mark the position of the spring compressor relative to the spring to facilitate installation.

Installation

NOTE: The final tightening of the shock absorber lower mounting bolt should be done with the vehicle resting on its own wheels.

CAUTION: Make sure that the upper spring seat support is installed and that the ends of the spring are properly seated in the upper and lower spring seats.

Install the spring.

NOTE: Do not fully tighten the lower shock mounting bolt at this stage.

Connect the shock absorber to the wheel knuckle.



3. Install the rear wheel and tire assembly. See Section 204-04 for more information.

4. Tighten the lower shock absorber mounting bolt.
