1. Apply the parking brake and place wheel chocks under the rear wheels.
Note: The shock absorber strut is usually removed for repair or replacement…
Note: …so before removing the strut with the vehicle on the ground, loosen the upper strut mount nut.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Pry it up with a screwdriver…
4. …remove the retaining clip…
5. …and remove the brake hose from the bracket on the shock absorber strut.
6. Disconnect the upper joint of the stabilizer bar from the shock absorber strut bracket (see "Replacing the front suspension stabilizer bar").
7. Unscrew the bolt of the terminal connection of the steering knuckle of the shock absorber strut mount.
8. Use a chisel and hammer to loosen the terminal connection.
9. Unscrew the three nuts…
10. …remove the strut from the steering knuckle terminal connection and remove the shock absorber strut.
Note: Do not over-tighten the brake hose to avoid damaging it.
11. Install the shock absorber strut in the reverse order of removal.
