Disassembly

1.

NOTE: Disconnect the propeller shaft from the transmission.

Disconnect the axle shaft from the gearbox side. Clamp the front axle shaft in a vice.

• 1. Pull back the cover. Pull back the cover.
• 2. Pull back the tripod joint assembly.

2. Pull back the tripod joint assembly.

• Pull back the tripod joint assembly (continued).

3. Pull back the tripod joint assembly.

• Remove the cover from the wheel side.

4. Remove the cover from the wheel side.

• Remove the cover from the gearbox side.
• Remove the cover from the gearbox side.
• General remark.

Assembly

1. Replace the retaining rings and clamps.

• Place the boot on the wheel side and pull it towards the gearbox.

2.

NOTE: Place the boot on the wheel side and pull it towards the transmission.

Secure the cover to the wheel side.

• Pack the axle joint using approximately 60g of outer joint grease (initial fill volume 100g).
• Press the boot into the groove on the axle shaft.

1. Place the protective cover in the required position and remove the screwdriver.

2.Place the small and large clamps into the annular groove of the boot and tighten them with a clamp wrench (shown from the gearbox side).





3. Place the small and large clamps into the annular groove of the boot and tighten them with a clamp wrench (shown from the transmission side).



4. Install the cover on the gearbox side.

• Insert the clamp into the ring groove of the boot and tighten it using a clamping tool.

CAUTION: Secure the tripod joint assembly.

Secure the tripod joint assembly.

• Using the special tool, install the tripod joint assembly onto the front drive axle shaft and push it in until it stops.

NOTE: Secure the tripod joint assembly (continued).

Secure the tripod joint assembly.

• Install the propeller shaft from the gearbox side.

7. Install the axle shaft from the gearbox side.

• Use grease for the inner joint (fill volumes are given in "General Specifications").

1. Place the protective cover in the required position and remove the screwdriver.

2. Move the tripod joint inward until it stops, then pull it out 20 mm.

• Remove the screwdriver.

8. Insert the clamp into the ring groove of the boot and tighten it using a clamping tool.
