Wipe the parts. Remove the protective covers. Remove the inner joint retaining ring and remove the shaft.

NOTE: The inner joint boot can be replaced without removing the drive shaft from the vehicle.


Place the protective covers on the shaft and install it in the outer joint, replacing the retaining ring. Put 40 g of grease in the joint. Install the shaft in the inner joint, install the retaining ring and put 40 g of grease. Install the protective cover of the outer joint in place (Fig. 3.55).

Install the inner joint protective cover in place so that when the shaft is fully recessed, the joint tilt angle is within 10-20°. Install the cover clamps and tighten them. The length of the outer joint protective cover should be 100 mm when the shaft is pulled out.
