Protective covers 6 ensure the sealing of the joints. The left wheel shaft is shorter than the right wheel shaft and is made of a rod, the right wheel shaft is made of a larger diameter pipe to dampen vibrations. The length of the right wheel drive is 642 mm, ∅ 43.0 mm. The length of the left wheel drive is 334 mm, ∅ 22.5 mm for sedans with GLA, GMA or GPA engines and ∅ 24.5 mm for all other models. The length of the protective cover with a compressed joint is 65-75 mm for sedans and station wagons with GLA, GMA or GPA engines, 78-86 mm for other models, with an extended joint - 100.0 mm.
