Disassembly
1.
NOTE: Disconnect the propeller shaft from the transmission.
Disconnect the front drive axle shaft from the intermediate shaft.
- Clamp the intermediate shaft in a vice.
- Disconnect and discard the clamping clips. Slide the cover back.
2. Disconnect the tripod joint. Remove the grease.
3. Pull and remove the tripod joint assembly. Remove the retaining ring.
4. Pull and remove the tripod joint assembly. Disconnect the boot from the wheel side.
5. Remove the cover from the wheel side.
- Remove the cover from the gearbox side.
- Remove the cover from the gearbox side.
- General remark.
Assembly
1. Replace the retaining rings and clamps. Put the boot on the wheel side and pull it towards the gearbox.

NOTE: Place the boot on the wheel side and pull it towards the transmission.
Secure the cover to the wheel side.
- Pack the axle joint using approximately 60g of outer joint grease (initial fill volume 100g).
- Press the cover into the groove on the axle shaft.
- 1. Place the protective cover in the required position and remove the screwdriver.
- 2.Place the small and large clamps into the annular groove of the boot and tighten them with a clamp wrench (shown from the gearbox side).
3. Insert the small and large clamps into the annular groove of the boot and tighten them using the special tool (left side of the gearbox shown).
4. Install the boot on the gearbox side. Place the boot clamp into the groove on the boot and tighten it with a clamping tool.

CAUTION: Secure the tripod joint assembly.
Install the tripod joint assembly. Using the special tool, install the radial element of the tripod joint onto the half shaft of the front drive axle and push it until it stops.
6.
NOTE: Secure the tripod joint assembly (continued).
Install the tripod joint assembly. Install the driveshaft from the gearbox side.
7. Secure the intermediate shaft to the front drive axle shaft.
8. Insert the clamps into the ring groove of the boot and tighten them using the clamping tool.
