Since May 1991, a new type of clutch release bearing guide sleeve has been installed. This eliminates the noise that the previous type of sleeve sometimes caused at idle and at speeds up to 3000 rpm. In vehicles manufactured before May 1991, if the described malfunction occurs, the new type of sleeve should be installed together with a new round gasket coated with a thin layer of grease. The mounting bolts of the new clutch release bearing guide sleeve should be tightened to a torque of 25 Nm.
Further information regarding the technical characteristics, adjustment and repair of the clutch is given in section 5.
