N9C type engine injection system

Fuel system and ignition system of the engine 2.0 NS DOHC EFI Kat. type N9C are the same as in the 2.0 HC DOHC EFI N9A engine described in subsection 3.1.4.3.1.7 and subsection 3.1.4.3.1.8. The following are just some of the changes associated with the use of an exhaust gas catalyst and a lambda probe in an N9C engine.

Fuel

Vehicles equipped with engines with exhaust catalysts in the exhaust system must use only unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 95.

Electronic control device

Brand and type: Motorcraft EEC IV.

Distributor

The ignition distributor contains a non-contact speed sensor. Brand: Bosch.

Fuel pressure control

The fuel pressure regulator is diaphragm type. Brand: Weber.

Adjustable pressure (during engine operation): 250±20 kPa.

Control data

Number of turns of idling of the engine: 875±50 rpm. CO content: up to 0.5%.
