Engine injection system type N9C (Sierra)

The fuel system and ignition system of the 2.0 HC DOHC EFI Cat. type N9C engine are the same as in the 2.0 HC DOHC EFI N9A engine described in subsection 3.1.4.3.1.7 and subsection 3.1.4.3.1.8. Below are just some of the changes associated with the use of an exhaust gas catalytic converter and lambda probe in the N9C engine.

Fuel

In vehicles equipped with engines with exhaust gas catalytic converters in the exhaust system, only unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 95 should be used.

Electronic control device

Make and type: Motorcraft EEC IV.

Distributor

The ignition distributor contains a contactless speed sensor. Brand: Bosch.

Fuel pressure regulator

The fuel pressure regulator is diaphragm type. Brand: Weber.

Adjustable pressure (during engine operation): 250±20 kPa.

Control data

Engine idle speed: 875±50 rpm. CO content: up to 0.5%.
