Lubrication system

Removal
1. Drain the oil from the engine.
2. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery and remove the air filter.
3. Remove the upper radiator cover and detach the two engine mount brackets.
4. Support the engine using a hoist (tool 21.060).
5. Unscrew the bolts and remove the oil pan.
6. Unscrew the plug on the oil pump housing.
7. Unscrew the nut with the plugged hole, remove the washer; unscrew the oil pump mounting bolt and remove it together with the washer.

8. Remove oil pump 1 (2 – pump drive shaft) from inside the cylinder block.
Installation
1. Install the oil pump inside the engine cylinder block so that the conical hole in its housing is opposite the threaded hole for the mounting bolt.
2. Install the copper washer, tighten the oil pump mounting bolt and the plugged nut together with the washer.

3. Measure the width of the gap between the surfaces of the threaded plug and the engine cylinder block.
4. Install a 0.05–0.10 mm thick washer to ensure adequate working clearance.
5. Perform the remaining steps in the reverse order of the process of removing the oil pump.
