Specifications of the lubrication system

Pressurized lubrication is provided by a gear oil pump driven by the camshaft through an angle gear. The lubrication system has a replaceable filter and an oil cooler.

Oil pump

Gear oil pump rotating with camshaft speed.

Oil filter

Disposable, replaceable filter.

Make and type: Motorcraft EFL 164 or Purftux LS 127.

Replacement frequency: every 7500 km or every six months.

Oil pressure sensor

Located in the oil filter holder.

Ignition pressure of the control light: 0.08–0.10 MPa.

Engine oil

Quantity: 5.6 dm³ (while 0.6 dm³ - oil filter).

Type: multigrade oil according to API SE/CD or CCMC PD1, SAE 15W 40 or 20W 50.

Replacement frequency: every 7500 km or every six months.

Cooling system

The closed cooling circuit with antifreeze liquid circulating under pressure contains a radiator, an expansion tank and a coolant pump.

Air is removed from the system automatically after starting the engine.

Radiator

The radiator is made of light alloy with a cross flow and has tanks made of artificial material.

Type: Motorcraft.

Expansion tank plug

Type: Motorcraft.

Overpressure valve opening pressure: 85–110 kPa.

Coolant pump

The centrifugal coolant pump, located on the front wall of the cylinder block, is driven by a V-belt.

The coolant pump is not repairable and must be replaced if it malfunctions.

Rotor diameter: 60 mm.

V-belt

Pump drive V-belt.

Brand and type: Kleber Venuflex XSR 13x1150.


Tension: deflection - 13 mm at a pressure of 30 N in the middle of the distance between the pulleys of the generator and the coolant pump.

Thermostat

The wax thermostat is located in the same housing as the coolant pump.

Brand: Calorstat.

Opening start temperature: 72°C.

Full opening temperature: 81°C.

Minimum valve travel: 7.5 mm.

Fan

The fan is driven by a V-belt through an electromagnetic clutch activated by a thermal switch located in the radiator.

Number of blades: 8.

Blade outer diameter: 360 mm.

Fan Clutch Thermal Switch

It is located in the right tank of a radiator.

Temperature:

• inclusions: 82°C;
• shutdown: 68°C.

Coolant

Quantity: 9.5 dm³.

Type: Ford SQM97B9103A Special Antifreeze Fluid.

Service interval: level check every 7500 km (does not require periodic replacement of the coolant).
