The closed cooling circuit with antifreeze liquid circulating under pressure contains a radiator, a coolant pump, an expansion tank, a thermostat and a fan with an electric motor controlled by a thermal switch located in the thermostat cover.
Radiator
The cross flow radiator has an aluminum alloy heat exchanger and artificial material tanks.
Expansion tank
The expansion tank is made of artificial material and has a two-way valve in the plug.
Coolant pump
The centrifugal coolant pump is driven by a toothed timing belt.
Thermostat
The wax thermostat is located on the side of the cylinder head.
Temperature at the beginning of opening: 84°–89°C.
Full opening temperature: 102±3°C.
Fan
The fan is driven by an electric motor controlled by a thermal switch located in the thermostat cover.
Coolant
Quantity: 8.6 dm³.
Type: mixture of 60% distilled water and 40% special Motorcraft antifreeze mixture designated Ford SSM 97 B 9103 A.
