1. Using tools 15.033 and 15.074, remove the outer ring of the outer bearing of the main gear pinion from the rear axle housing.
2. Install a new outer ring of the outer bearing of the main gear pinion using tool 15.033.
3. Remove the outer ring of the inner bearing in the same manner.
4. Install a new outer ring of the inner bearing together with a new 2 mm thick gasket using tool 15.083.
5. Using a suitable puller, remove the inner tapered bearing (inner race and rollers) from the final drive pinion and remove the spacer sleeve.
6. Install a new inner tapered bearing along with a new 1mm thick shim located between the bearing and the final drive pinion.
7. Lubricate the tapered pinion bearings with gearbox oil.
8. Insert the gear into the housing, install the spacer sleeve and outer tapered bearing on the gear.
9. Screw in the bearing fastening nut and tighten it using a 36 mm offset open-end wrench and device 15.073. While tightening the nut, measure the torque of rotation of the main gear pinion using dynamometer 15.041, located in device 15.073. The bearing fastening nut should be tightened in such a way as to achieve the required torque of rotation of the pinion.
