1. Position the rear axle on the appropriate holder (tool 15.070).
2. Unscrew the Torx bolts securing the rear axle cover, remove the cover and drain the oil from the crankcase.
3. Remove the output shafts from the rear axle.
4. Remove the plates securing the differential bearing clearance adjustment flange.
5. Mark their position.
6. Remove the bearing clearance adjustment flanges (see Fig. Rear axle parts), as well as the differential box (key 15.071).

7. Unscrew the nut securing the flange to the main gear pinion (tool 15.040).
8. Using a suitable universal puller, remove the flange from the gear.

9. Unscrew the nut securing the main gear bearings (tool 15.073 and 36 mm open-end wrench).
10. Remove the final drive gear, tapered bearing and spacer sleeve.
