Removal and installation of a back axis

            0

Raise the vehicle so that the rear wheels are off the floor.

Remove rear wheels.

Disconnect the front handbrake cable. Remove the spring clips, rods and adjuster from the hand lever assembly.

Remove the fuel lines and close their openings.

Clamp the elastic hoses of both rear brakes (pic. 4.16).

Support the axle and unscrew the bolts securing the brackets to the floor (pic. 4.17).

Unscrew the bolts securing the suspension columns to the arms (pic. 4.18).

Lower the rear axle and pull forward.

Unmount the upper fixings of the columns and take out the columns.

Note: do not unscrew the center bolt! Unscrew only the side bolts.

The rear axle is installed in the reverse order.

The lever bearing bolts with rubber bushings must be tightened under load, that is, when the car is on wheels.

The brake system should be bled. How to carry out this operation is described in section 6.1 "Elements of the brake system - Bleeding the brake system".

Assemble and adjust the handbrake using the information in the brake section.
