Places for applying sealant to mating surfaces of the oil sump and cylinder block

2 - places for applying sealant

1. Thoroughly clean mating surfaces of cylinder block and oil sump.

2. Install a new gasket in the oil sump grooves.

3. Apply sealant to areas mating with the O-ring cover.

4. Apply an anti-screw compound to the threads of the bolts and nuts, install the oil sump and screw in the bolts and nuts without completely tightening them.

5. Align the end surfaces of the oil sump and cylinder block and finally tighten the bolts and nuts. If there is a step between the end surfaces, it is necessary to measure it and, depending on the size of the step, install a gasket of the recommended thickness.

6. Further operations are performed in the reverse order of removal.
