Attention! Before removing the caliper, drain the hydraulic accumulator of the brake system. To do this, turn off the ignition and press the brake pedal all the way (about 20 times) until it becomes "hard".
Removal
1. Loosen the rear wheel nuts.
2. Raise and support the rear of the vehicle and remove the appropriate wheel.
3. Disconnect the handbrake cable (indicated by the arrow) from the lever on the caliper.
4. Disconnect the brake hoses from the pipes. Close the holes in the pipes with appropriate plugs.
5. Unscrew and remove the caliper bracket mounting bolts.
6. Remove the caliper bracket and caliper.
Installation
To install the caliper, you must perform the steps in reverse order to the process of its removal and remove air from the brake system.
Disassembling and assembling the caliper
1. Remove the brake caliper (see above).
2. Disconnect the caliper from the holder.
3. Install the caliper in a vice.
4. Turn the piston counterclockwise until it protrudes from the cylinder by approximately 20 mm.
5. Remove the elastic casing from the piston groove.
6. Completely unscrew and remove the piston from the cylinder.
7. Remove the elastic piston casing.
8. Wash the piston and cylinder thoroughly.
9. Remove the retaining ring from the piston.
10. Remove the axle ring from the piston.
11. Remove the wave washer and thrust bearing from the piston.
12. Remove the adjusting nut (indicated by the arrow) from the bearing.
13. Remove the ring clamp and sealing washers from the piston.
Attention! Mark the location of all removed elements.
14. Remove the sealing ring from the adjusting nut, wash the nut, lubricate the sealing ring with brake fluid and install it in place in the position it was in before removal.
15. Compress the regulator spring and remove the retaining ring inside the cylinder liner.
16. Remove the spring cover.
17. Remove the spring.
18. Remove the gaskets.
19. Using fine-nosed pliers, remove the retaining ring (indicated by the arrow) inside the cylinder liner (indicated by the arrow) and remove the pusher and shaped washer.
20. Remove the handbrake spacer from the cylinder sleeve.
21. Remove the return spring and the locking bolt of the handbrake lever. Remove the lever and shaft sleeve, as well as the sealing ring, from the caliper.
22. Carefully check the condition of all parts. Any scratches or signs of wear on the surface of the piston or cylinder mean that the complete caliper must be replaced.
23. During assembly, all seals should be replaced and the components should be lubricated with brake fluid.
24. Using tool 12-006, install the piston into the rear caliper.
25. Connect the caliper to its holder.
26. Install and secure the caliper in the vehicle (see subsection 11.2.1).
27. Install the handbrake shaft sleeve (X = 7.5 mm).
28. Remove air from the brake system.
