Section of the rear caliper

1 - pusher, 2 - spring, 3 - washers, 4 - conical thrust surface, 5 - adjusting nut, 6 - shaped washer

Attention! Before removing the caliper, the hydraulic accumulator of the brake system must be drained. To do this, turn off the ignition and press the brake pedal all the way (about 20 times), until she becomes "solid".

Withdrawal

1. Loosen rear wheel nuts.

2. Raise and secure the rear of the vehicle and remove the corresponding wheel.

3. Disconnect cable (indicated by an arrow) hand brake from the lever on the caliper.

4. Disconnect brake hoses from lines. Close the openings in the pipelines with appropriate plugs.

5. Unscrew and remove the caliper holder mounting bolts.

6. Remove the caliper holder and caliper.

Installation

To install the caliper, you must follow the steps in reverse order with respect to the process of removing it and remove air from the brake system.

Disassembly and assembly of the caliper

1. Remove brake caliper (see above).

2. Detach the caliper from the holder.

3. Install the caliper in a vise.

4. By turning the piston counterclockwise, unscrew it so that it protrudes from the cylinder by approximately 20 mm.

5. Remove the elastic casing from the piston groove.

6. Completely unscrew and remove the piston from the cylinder.

7. Remove the flexible piston cover.

8. Thoroughly wash the piston and cylinder.

9. Remove retaining ring from piston.

10. Remove the axial ring from the piston.

11. Remove the wave washer and thrust bearing from the piston.

12. Remove the adjusting nut from the bearing (arrow).

13. Remove the o-ring and sealing washers from the piston.

Attention! Mark the location of all removed items.

14. Remove the sealing ring from the adjusting nut, wash the nut, lubricate the sealing ring with brake fluid and install it in its place in the position in which it was before removal.

15. Compress the adjuster spring and remove the circlip inside the cylinder liner.

16. Remove spring cover.

17. Remove spring.

18. Remove gaskets.

19. Using pliers with thin jaws, remove the retaining ring (indicated by an arrow) inside the cylinder liner (indicated by an arrow) and remove the pusher and shaped washer.

20. Remove the handbrake spacer from the cylinder liner.

21. Remove the return spring and handbrake lever retaining bolt. Remove the lever and shaft sleeve, as well as the sealing ring from the caliper.

22. Carefully check the condition of all parts. All scratches or signs of wear on the surface of the piston or cylinder mean that the complete caliper must be replaced.

23. When assembling, replace all seals and lubricate the components with brake fluid.

24. Using tool 12-006, install the piston into the rear caliper.

25. Connect the caliper to its holder.

26. Install and secure the caliper in the car (see subsection 11.2.1).

27. Install the handbrake shaft bushing (X = 7.5 mm).

28. Remove air from the brake system.
