Removal and installation the driver's airbag (Fusion)

The driver's airbag must be removed when repairing the steering components and electrical equipment of the vehicle. Therefore, the process of its removal and installation is described in this manual. However, to avoid injury, strictly adhere to the recommended sequence of work.

You will need: TORX T15 key, flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the power supply to the airbag module by removing fuse F39 (shown in the photo by the arrow) in the main block located under the instrument panel.

Caution: Attempting to remove the airbag module without disconnecting its power supply may result in unexpected airbag deployment.


Attention! You can proceed with the following operations to remove the airbag only after the activator capacitor has been completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, you must wait at least 15 minutes after removing the fuse from the mounting block.


Warning! Do not disassemble the airbag module.


Caution: Do not allow the airbag module to fall or come into contact with water, grease or oil.


Caution! Do not expose the airbag module to temperatures above 95°C.
