Removal and installation the rear door trim (Fusion)

You will need: a flat-blade screwdriver, a TORX T40 key.

1. Remove the inside handle of the rear door lock (see "Replacing the inner handle of the rear door lock actuator").

2. Pry up the window lift handle with a screwdriver…

3. …and, overcoming the resistance of the metal retainer, remove the handle from the car.

Note: This is the location of the window handle retainer. Replace the retainer if it is damaged.

4. Use a screwdriver to pry off the screw cap securing the rear door trim…

5. …remove the plug…

6. …and unscrew the upholstery mounting screw.

7. Overcoming the resistance of the plastic holders, remove the door trim.

Note: If the holders are damaged, replace them with new ones.


8. Install the rear door trim in the reverse order of removal.
