Replacing the outside handle and lock of the front door (Fusion)

You will need: 8 mm keys, TORX T20, TORX T40, flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers.

1. Remove the screw securing the door lock switch trim…

2. …and remove the trim by carefully prying it off with a screwdriver.

3. Slide the outer handle back…

4. …and remove the handle, disengaging its leash from the lock lever, and the front retainer from the door amplifier.



5. Remove the front door window regulator base (see "Replacing the front door window regulator").

6. Unscrew the nut of the stud securing the door lock to the outer door panel…

7. …unscrew the three screws securing the door lock from the rear end of the door…

8. …and remove the lock from the door.

9. Install the front door lock and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

Note: If necessary, adjust the locking clarity by moving the latch vertically or horizontally, loosening its tightening.
