Replacing the outside handle and front door lock switch

Replacing the outside handle and left door lock switch is shown. The handle and switch of the right door are replaced in the same way.

You will need a TORX T20 key.



1. Open the door, pry with a screwdriver..



2.... and remove the plug from the hole in the rear end of the door.



3. Through the opened hole in the end, unscrew the screw securing the lock switch..




4.... and remove the switch.



5. Move the outer handle back..



6.... and remove the handle, disengaging its leash from the lock lever, and the front latch from the door amplifier.



7. If the front..




8. …and the back pads of the outer handle have lost elasticity, are badly deformed or torn, replace them.

9. Establish the external handle of a forward door in an order, the return to removal.



10. If it is necessary to repair the lock switch, use a screwdriver to pry the locks of the switch facing on its end face..



11.... and on the sides..




12.... and then remove the lining from the switch body.



13. Using a sharply sharpened thin chisel, bend the body punching points that fix the locking plate..



NOTE: This is how the body punch points are located to secure the lock plate.




14.... and remove the lock plate from the housing groove.




15. Remove the retaining ring from the shank of the switch cylinder..



16.... leash..



17.... and a distance washer.



18. Remove the thrust plate from the switch housing..



19.... and remove the switch cylinder from the hole in the housing.



20. Insert the key into the cylinder cylinder..



21.... and remove the larva from the cylinder body.

22. Reassemble the front door lock switch in the reverse order of disassembly. Before assembly, lubricate the switch cylinder with silicone grease. Don't forget to secure the lock plate to the body by scoring the edges of its slot in four places.
