1. Open the tailgate and secure it in the closed position (for example, with a wooden block of suitable length) or ask an assistant to support the door.
2. Using a screwdriver, pry the upper hinge lock of the stop outward…
3. …and disconnect the hinge from the support on the door.
4. Using a screwdriver, move the lower hinge lock of the stop and remove the stop.
5. If necessary, unscrew the stop hinges.
6. Remove the second stop in the same way.
7. Install the tailgate stops in the reverse order of removal.
