Replacing the front seat belt

NOTE: Replacing the front seat belts is shown using the driver's seat belt as an example. The front passenger seat belt is replaced in the same way.

You will need a TORX T50 key.

1. The seat belts are equipped with pretensioners, so disconnect the wire from the terminal «minus» battery.

WARNING: After disconnecting the wire from the terminal «minus» battery, you must wait at least 10 minutes, only after that you can proceed to remove the seat belt equipped with a pretensioner.

WARNING: Do not disassemble belt tensioners.

WARNING: Do not allow the belt buckles with pretensioners to fall and get water or oil into them.

WARNING: Belt pretensioners must not be exposed to temperatures above 95°C.

2. Turn out the screw of the bottom fastening of a seat belt.

NOTE: There is a spacer on the screw, do not lose it.

3. Remove both parts of facing of the central rack (cm. «Removal and installation of facings of salon»).



4. Loosen the upper belt mounting screw and disconnect the belt buckle from the holder of the belt height adjustment assembly.

NOTE: There is a flat washer on the screw, do not lose it.

5. Remove the holder of the top part of facing of the central rack.

NOTE: The two lower retainer clips were removed while removing the lower B-pillar trim.

6. Remove the screw securing the assembly to adjust the position of the belt in height..



7.... and remove the adjustment assembly by moving its latches upward from the grooves of the rack.



8. Turn out the screw of fastening of an inertial coil..




9.... and remove the coil from the body pillar.



10. To remove the front seat belt buckle, you must remove the seat from the car (cm. «Removal and installation of a forward seat»), because with the seat installed, there is no access to the pretensioner harness connectors and harness holders on the seat cushion base.



11. Put the seat on its side and, pressing the lock with a screwdriver..




12.... disconnect the pink one from the common block..



13.... and the yellow block of the pretensioner wires.



14. Remove the pretensioner wires from the three holders located at the bottom of the seat cushion base.

NOTE: This is how the wire holders are located on the base of the seat cushion.

15. Remove the screw securing the seat belt buckle to the seat..



16.... and remove the lock.

17. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
