NOTE: The front seat belt replacement is shown using the driver's seat belt as an example. The front passenger seat belt is replaced in the same way.
You will need a TORX T50 key.
1. The seat belts are equipped with pretensioners, so disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
WARNING: After disconnecting the wire from the negative terminal of the battery, you must wait at least 10-15 minutes before you can begin removing the seat belt equipped with a pretensioner.
WARNING: Disassembling the inertia reels with belt pretensioners is prohibited.
WARNING: Do not allow the inertia reels with pretensioners to fall or come into contact with water or oil.
WARNING: Do not expose seat belt pretensioners to temperatures above 95°C.
2. Remove the screw of the lower seat belt mount.
NOTE: There is a spacer sleeve installed on the screw, do not lose it.
3. Remove the upper and lower center pillar trims (see Removing and installing interior trim).
4. After unscrewing the screws securing the air duct, remove it.
5. Loosen the upper belt fastening screw and disconnect the belt buckle from the belt height adjustment unit housing.
NOTE: There is a flat washer on the screw, do not lose it.
6. If necessary, unscrew the two screws securing the clip of the belt height adjustment unit..
7….take it off…
8….and the holder of the upper pillar trim.
9. Using a screwdriver, move the belt guide hook…
10….remove the guide from the rack.
11. Remove the screw securing the inertia reel with the belt pretensioner built into it…
12….and remove the coil through the technological hole in the body pillar.
13. Squeeze the clamps of the harness connector of the belt pretensioner and disconnect it from the contact connector of the inertia reel…
14….and remove the reel and seat belt.
15. To remove the front seat belt buckle, you must remove the seat from the vehicle (see Removing and installing the front seat), since it is inconvenient to unscrew the lock mounting screw when the seat is installed.
16. Install the seat belt and removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
