1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the floor tunnel lining (see Removing and installing floor tunnel lining).
3. Remove the heat-protective foil from the surface of the block.
4. By pressing the lock…
5….disconnect the small wiring harness connector from the electronic unit.
6. Press the locking button on the large connector of the wiring harness…
7….unfasten the holder…
8….and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the electronic unit.
9. Remove the three screws securing the electronic control unit of the additional passive safety system…
10….and take it off.
NOTE: Pay attention to the marking of the control unit; for replacement, purchase a unit with the same marking.
The control unit can be installed on the vehicle in only one position, but to check, pay attention to the arrow on its label - it should point forward in the direction of vehicle movement.
11. Install the additional passive restraint system electronic control unit and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
