Removal and installation of the hydroelectronic control unit of the anti-lock braking system


The hydro-electronic control unit for the anti-lock braking system is mounted on a bracket to the left of the brake booster and is secured with two nuts.

You will need: a 10 mm spanner…

…and a special 11 mm wrench for unscrewing the brake pipe fittings.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the battery mounting shelf (see Removing and installing the battery mounting shelf)

3. Pry up the wiring harness connector retainer, move it in the direction of the arrow until it stops upwards and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the unit"s contact connector.

4. Unscrew the six fittings securing the pipelines to the hydraulic electronic unit…

5….and remove the pipes from the two plastic holders.

6. Unscrew the two nuts securing the hydraulic electronic unit to the bracket and remove it.

7. Install the hydraulic electronic unit and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

WARNING: When replacing the hydraulic electronic unit, air gets into the brake system. It is impossible to remove it without using special equipment. In this regard, contact a service station to replace the unit.
