Withdrawal


1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Section 414-01 for more information.

2. Remove the air filter. See Section 303-12 for more information.

3. Loosen the upper suspension strut nuts three turns (at both sides).

WARNING: If brake fluid comes into contact with the paintwork, the affected area must be washed immediately with cold water.



Disconnect the clutch slave cylinder pipe. Remove the spring clip.



5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for more information.

6. Disunite the plug socket of the switch of lanterns of a backing.



7. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector (VSS) (in the presence of).



8. Remove the shift cable cover.




9. Disconnect the shift cables from the gearbox.
  • 1. Disconnect the shift cables and the gear selection cable from the gear selection levers.
  • 2. Turn the support sleeve clockwise and disconnect the cables from the bracket.

CAUTION: Use a soft cloth to cover the rubber seal on the ball joint to avoid damaging it.


Disconnect the lower control arm from the steering knuckle (at both sides). Detach the heat shield.



11. Remove the cover of the intermediate bearing of the intermediate shaft.


  • Discard the intermediate bearing cap as it is no longer needed.

CAUTION: Support axle shaft. The inner hinge of the axle shaft should not be deflected by an angle exceeding 18 degrees; the outer hinge of the axle shaft - at an angle exceeding 45 degrees.


CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the axle shaft oil seal.


NOTE: Plug the gearbox openings in the transaxle block to prevent oil leakage and dirt ingress.


Disconnect the axle shaft and intermediate shaft from the gearbox and secure them to the side. Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.

CAUTION: Support axle shaft. The inner hinge should not be tilted more than 18 degrees. External hinge - at an angle exceeding 45 degrees.



CAUTION: Do not damage the oil seal.


NOTE: Shut off the transaxle to prevent oil from escaping and dirt from entering.


Using the special tool, disconnect the left axle shaft from the gearbox and secure it out of the way.
  • Discard the retaining ring as it is no longer needed.
  • Allow the oil to drain into a suitable container.



14. Remove the power steering pipe bracket and ground wire.



15. Disconnect the starter from the gearbox and secure it to the side.
  • Disconnect the coolant line bracket.



16. Disconnect the intake exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.



17. Remove the engine roll limiter.



18. Disconnect the accessory drive belt cover.



19. Turn out the bottom bolts of a transmission.



20. Turn out the right bolts of a transmission.



21. Lower the car.

22. Install special tools.



23. Turn out the top bolts of a transmission.
  • Disconnect the engine wiring harness bracket from the transmission.



24. Disconnect the rear engine mount. Discard the nuts as they are no longer needed.



25. Remove the rear engine mount bracket.



26. Lower the engine/gearbox assembly using the special tools.



27. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for more information.

28. Rotate the engine/transmission assembly forward using the appropriate retaining collars.



29. Secure the gearbox to the gearbox jack using the appropriate clamps.



30. Turn out the right bolt of a transmission.



31. Remove a transmission.
