Removal
1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.
2. Remove the ignition coil cover.
- 1. Disconnect the clamps.
- 2. Release the coolant line from the clamp and remove the ignition coil cover.

3. Disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe.

4. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor connector (air filter shown removed for clarity).

5. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.

6. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.

7. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve connector (air filter shown removed for clarity).

8. Disconnect the fuel injection system wiring harness plug connectors.

9. Remove the spark plug cover.

10. Disconnect the variable valve timing (VCT) solenoid connector.

11. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.
12. Disconnect the electrical connector of the oil pressure switch.

13. Lower the vehicle.
14. Disconnect the knock sensor (KS) plug connector (for clarity, the intake manifold is shown removed).

15. Disconnect the intake manifold vacuum control plug (air filter shown removed for clarity).

16. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor connector.

17. Release the fuel injection system wiring harness clamp from the ignition coil bracket.

18. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

19. Remove the fuel supply system wiring harness.
Installation
1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
