The fuel distribution manifold is a galvanized steel manifold with stamped bosses for the injectors. The fuel manifold is secured to the engine with two bolts.
The fuel pressure sensor is mounted directly on the fuel manifold and secured with two bolts. Sealing is provided by two O-rings.
The fuel injectors are installed directly into the fuel rail and are secured by the fuel rail itself when it is connected to the intake manifold. Sealing is provided by upper and lower O-rings. The fuel injectors are sequentially activated by the powertrain control module (PCM), which varies the amount of fuel by adjusting the opening time of the fuel injectors in accordance with engine operating conditions.
