1. To remove rust, sludge and other foreign material from the cooling system, use Premium Cooling System Flush, which is safe for aluminum radiators. For additional information, refer to the Specifications section in this section. Remove the thermostat before pressure flushing. The flushing procedure restores the efficiency of the cooling system and helps prevent overheating. Pulsing or reversing the flow of flush water will remove deposits more effectively than a steady flow in the normal direction of coolant flow. In severe cases where cleaning solutions will not properly clean the cooling system to ensure efficient operation, the pressure flush method using Cooling System Flusher will be required. Dispose of used coolant and flush water contaminated with antifreeze and cleaning agents in accordance with local, state and national laws and regulations.
2. Remove the radiator.
3.
CAUTION: The internal pressure of the radiator should not exceed 138 kPa. If this value is exceeded, damage may occur.
Flush the radiator with the flow of water (backwash). The radiator should be upside down and the pressurized water hose should be inserted into the lower hose port.
4. Remove the thermostat. Refer to the "Thermostat" section of this section.
5. Perform a back flush of the engine. Install a pressurized water hose into the engine coolant return port.
