Thermostat (1.6L Zetec-SE / 1.4L) — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.

2. Remove the generator. See Section 414-02 for more information.

3. Disconnect the inlet hose from the radiator to the thermostat housing.



4. Disconnect the heater hose from the thermostat housing.



5. Remove the thermostat housing.



6. Remove the thermostat.

Installation

1. Replace the elements in reverse order.



2. Fill the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant found in this section.
