Thermostat housing (1.8L / 2.0L / 1.6L Zetec-E) — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.

2. Disconnect the coolant hoses.



3. Turn out bolts of the case of the thermostat.



4. Remove the thermostat housing.

• 1.Disconnect the coolant hose.
• 2.Remove the thermostat housing.

5. Remove the O-ring and discard it as no longer needed.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Install a new O-ring.

Reinstall the elements in reverse order.



2. Fill the cooling system. For more information, refer to the chapter Draining/Filling Coolant and Bleeding Air from the Cooling System found in this section.
